Everything could happen in Queretaro at the game between two tied teams. Both first ranked Libertadores and 6th ranked Mineros had identical 6-5 record. This time Libertadores used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Zacatecas 94-80 on Sunday night. Libertadores looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Bennie Boatwright (208-1996, college: USC) who scored 28 points. American-DR Congolese center Emmanuel Wembi (205-1997, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Libertadores went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Mineros dropped to the third place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Libertadores will meet league's leader Fuerza Regia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mineros will play against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
