We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Mexicali where seventh ranked Freseras (1-11) edged 6th ranked Soles (4-8) 89-86 on Sunday. Freseras made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Soles outrebounded Freseras 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Nick Faust (198-1993, college: LBSU) who scored 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. American-Jamaican forward Joel James (208-1994, college: UNC) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican Donte Clark who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Soles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Freseras maintains seventh position with 1-11 record, which they share with Correcaminos. Loser Soles dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Plateros. Freseras will meet at home higher ranked Plateros (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Soles will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
