The biggest surprise took place in Montevideo where host Uruguayan Malvin (2-1) crushed Chilean Univ.de Chile (2-1) 78-53 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Univ.de Chile. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Malvin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Malvin outrebounded Univ.de Chile 45-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Colombian forward Jenifer Munoz (170-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Argentinian Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Javiera Novion (170-1987, college: Eckerd) who recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Fernanda Serrano (175-1992) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Univ.de Chile.
