Undefeated leader San Salvador delivered the fifth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked San Miguel (2-4) 81-66. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to San Miguel's 28. They outrebounded San Miguel 46-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who added 19 points and 9 assists during the contest. San Salvador's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Raven Fields (188, college: WSSU) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Aida Funes (171-1984) scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. San Salvador (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Loser San Miguel keeps the fifth place with four games lost. San Salvador will meet at home LMMR 2 (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
