LSB top team - Caribbean Coast (13-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked UNI Basket (4-11) in Managua 87-75. They outrebounded UNI Basket 48-29 including 35 on the offensive glass. Caribbean Coast players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-1992) chipped in 22 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Puerto Rican guard Robert Nieves (186-1999, college: Graceland) with 29 points and 6 assists and point guard Brandon Wilson (-1995) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caribbean Coast have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-4 record.
