Regular Season Round 5: Carrib.Storm - Cafeteros 71-78

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Storm (5-1) in San Andres Island on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Cafeteros (4-1) 78-71. Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and Venezuelan forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Panamanian Josimar Ayarza (205-1987, college: Southern Miss) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Nathan Priddy (188-1999, college: Elon) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Cafeteros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Team Cali. Storm at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost.
