But Union was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from La Rioja 87-63 on Thursday night. Strangely Union outrebounded Riachuelo LR 51-39 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Jeremias Barco (-2005) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Matias Bichara chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Matias Cagliero (187-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Agustin Ferrari (-2005) scored 18 points. Union's coach Martin Castellazzi already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Riachuelo LR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union will play against Platense in Florida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
