Regular Season Round 7: Carrib.Storm - Tigrillos 111-106
Date: October 6, 2023
Very expected game in San Andres Island where 10th ranked Tigrillos (2-6) were defeated by second ranked Storm (6-1) 111-106 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Storm had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Luis Almanza (196-1991) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American guard Gerald Williams (190-1991, college: La Sierra) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Tariq Christian (, agency: Perpetual Sports) produced 30 points and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Aaron Lewis added 23 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Storm maintains second place with 6-1 record having just three points less than leader Titanes, which they share with Cafeteros. Tigrillos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Storm will meet at home Team Cali (#5) in the next round. Tigrillos will play against Sabios (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
