Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (0-7) was smashed on the road by third ranked LMMR 2 (4-3) 78-30 on Saturday. LMMR 2 held Santa Ana 2 to an opponent 20.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.0 percent accuracy of the winners. LMMR 2 forced 27 Santa Ana 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 69-37 including a 31-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dominican swingman Yadira Polanco (178-1992) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 21 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and guard Katherine Rivas (162-1989) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Catherine Rivas (167-1989) came up with 8 points and 17 rebounds and guard Paola Herrera (156-2004) added 5 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Santa Ana 2 in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LMMR 2 maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader San Salvador. Santa Ana 2 lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. LMMR 2 will meet at home league's second-placed Santa Tecla 2 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santa Ana 2 will play against the league's leader San Salvador (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
