Regatas (1-1) recorded a loss in Corrientes. Hosts were defeated by Penarol (1-2) 87-80. It was a great evening for point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-1998) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Robert Whitfield (190-1997, college: UMKC) helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was American center Gary McGhee (210-1988, college: Pittsburgh) with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Facundo Pinero (202-1988) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. Regatas' coach Fernando Calvi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Penarol will play against Obras (#18) in Buenos Aires in the next round. Regatas will play on the road against San Lorenzo (#5) in Almagro to get more than just one victory in their record.
