Liga Mayor top team - San Salvador (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Santa Ana 2 (0-9) 125-38. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana 2's 20. San Salvador forced 38 Santa Ana 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 27-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Salvador players were unselfish on offense dishing 40 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Santa Ana 2's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) notched 32 points and 6 rebounds (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) supported her with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 14 assists and 6 steals. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points by Crissia Paz did not help to save the game for Santa Ana 2. Guard Paola Herrera (156-2004) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. San Salvador have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Santa Ana 2 at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. San Salvador will play against Salvadorenas 2 (#4) in the next round. Santa Ana 2 will play against San Miguel and hopes to get finally their first victory.
