Very significant was Santa Tecla 2's (#2, 7-1) victory against one of their biggest challengers LMMR 2 (4-4) 75-59. Santa Tecla 2 held LMMR 2 to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Santa Tecla 2 forced 20 LMMR 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 66-51 including a 50-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by LMMR 2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best for the losing side was Dominican swingman Yadira Polanco (178-1992) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 24 rebounds and guard Katherine Rivas (162-1989) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Santa Tecla 2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader San Salvador. LMMR 2 at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Santa Tecla 2 are looking forward to face league's leader San Salvador at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LMMR 2 will play against San Miguel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
