The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Uriona as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Uriona smashed bottom-ranked Potosi Mun. at home 100-66. Uriona dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Potosi Mun.'s 40 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Potosi Mun. 73-49 including a 51-36 advantage in defensive rebounds. Uriona looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Potosi Mun.'s players. Jheraldine Pinedo had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Estefany Copa chipped in 20 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Uriona players scored in double figures. Uriona's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Julieta Tapia (172-2005) with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and Genesis Zambrana scored 4 points and 18 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Aleman. Potosi Mun. at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Potosi Mun. will play next round against Univ. San Simon trying to get back on the winning streak. Uriona will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Aleman on the road.
