Regular Season Round 3: Zarate - San Martin 85-75
Date: October 17, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when San Martin (1-3) lost on the road to Zarate (1-0) 85-75 on Tuesday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Juan Ibarra (197-2004) who led the winners and scored 31 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Sahir Abdala (185-2005) accounted for 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Zarate players scored in double figures. Zarate's coach Daniel Acosta allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Lorenzo Benay (203-2004) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Franco Alegre (176-2003) added 26 points and 6 rebounds respectively for San Martin in the defeat. Zarate will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Martin will play against Independ.O. (#9) in Olivia and hope to win that game.
