Argentina
Regular Season Round 4: Ferro - Obera 96-89
Date: October 19, 2023
The most surprising game was the first loss of Obera (2-1) in Buenos Aires on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by eighteenth ranked Ferro (1-2) 96-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obera. Ferro looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tomas Spano (183-1998) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Mariano Fierro (200-1986) who added 18 points during the contest. Five Ferro players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Carlton Guyton (190-1990, college: Kent St.) scored 25 points. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Ferro left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Obera at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with San Martin and San Lorenzo. Ferro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obera will play on the road against San Lorenzo (#7) in Almagro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
