Regular Season Round 12: Fuerza Regia - Dorados 87-71

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Dorados (12-12) lost to first ranked Fuerza Regia (16-7) in Monterrey 71-87 on Friday. Fuerza Regia made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American power forward Jerai Grant (203-1989, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 13 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) supported him with 18 points. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) did not help to save the game for Dorados. Dominican-American forward Anyeuri Castillo (201-1997, college: USC Aiken) added 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Fuerza Regia went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Dorados keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet Freseras (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Dorados will play against Santos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
