Regular Season Round 5: La Union - Regatas 97-104

La Union (2-1) recorded its first loss in Formosa on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Regatas (2-3) 104-97. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Union. 24 personal fouls committed by La Union helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Juan Larraza who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Benjamin Marco (186-2005) chipped in 26 points and 4 steals. Guard Franco Chir (190-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Lisandro Bernabei (-2005) added 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. La Union's coach Mario Martinez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Regatas went down to fourteenth position due to points difference. La Union at the other side dropped to the eighth place with one game lost. They share the position with Zarate. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. La Union will play on the road against Comunicaciones (#11) in Mercedes and is hoping to win this game.
