Regular Season Round 3: Pato - Brasilia 78-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Pato (2-3) was edged by Brasilia (2-1) in Pato Branco 80-78 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Christian Alaekwe (193, college: St.Thomas, TX) accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American point guard Nate Barnes (182-1990, college: ABU) came up with 13 points and 7 assists and the former international Eduardo Sommer (205-1994) added 19 points respectively for Pato in the defeat. Four Pato players scored in double figures. Pato's coach Jece Leite rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia will meet at home Caxias do Sul (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pato will play against Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes and hope to secure a win.
