Regular Season Round 4: Penarol - Bigua 92-90

A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) betweenPenarol and Bigua . Sixth ranked Penarol (2-1) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Bigua (1-3). Penarol managed to escape with a 2-point win 92-90 on Tuesday evening. Penarol dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Bigua 's 24. Penarol forced 20 Bigua turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Charles Thomas (203-1986, college: Arkansas) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side point guard Leandro Garcia (188-1999) responded with 23 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and guard Matias Espinosa (186-2004) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Penarol moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Malvin. Loser Bigua keeps the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Malvin.
