There was no surprise in Almagra where 13th rankedSan Lorenzo (3-5) was crushed by sixth ranked Independ.O. (5-4) 94-65 on Friday. Independ.O. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Independ.O. outrebounded San Lorenzo 51-38 including 38 on the defensive glass. Independ.O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jorge Garcia (180) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and Esteban Caffaro (200-2003) who added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Eduardo Santamaria responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Valentino Nesci scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). San Lorenzo's coach Juan Veira already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Independ.O. maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Loser San Lorenzo keeps the thirteenth place with five games lost.
