There was a surprise result when sixteenth rankedQuilmes MP (3-5) crushed higher ranked La Union (5-6) in Mar del Plata 84-55 on Thursday. Quilmes MP made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tomas Verbauwede (198-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Luis Cequeira (179-1985) accounted for 8 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Forward Brian Osuna (202-2001) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and center Lucio Longoni (205-2001) added 9 points respectively for La Union in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quilmes MP moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser La Union keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Ameghino.
