Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo:Penarol (#6) and Cordon (#7). Cordon was defeated at home 67-75 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Penarol brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Panamanian power forward Eric Romero (210-1999, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American power forward Chaz Crawford (208-1984, college: Drexel) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Penarol (4-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Defensor. Cordon at the other side dropped to the ninth position with five games lost.
