Regular Season Round 10: Gimnasia - Zarate 83-82

Sixteenth-ranked Zarate (3-6) gave a tough game to first ranked Gimnasia CR (10-1) in Comodoro Rivadavia on Wednesday. Gimnasia CR managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Gimnasia forced 19 Zarate turnovers and had a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2002) chipped in 32 points during the contest. Gimnasia CR's coach Gustavo Sapochnik used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Sahir Abdala (185-2005) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Edgar Merchant (200-2002) scored 20 points. Four Zarate players scored in double figures. Gimnasia maintains first position with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Zarate dropped to the seventeenth place with six games lost. They share the position with La Union. Gimnasia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zarate will play at home against Olimpico (#20) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
