Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo:Nacional (#1) and Defensor (#3). Defensor was defeated at home 91-99 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Defensor. Nacional players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) supported him with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Nacional players scored in double figures. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Malik Curry (184-1999, college: WVU) did not help to save the game for Defensor . Serbian center Darko Balaban (210-1989, agency: Helping Ballers) added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Nacional (8-1) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Defensor at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
