Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Brasilia (3-13) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Sao Paulo (7-9) 72-63 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-1988, college: Valdosta St.) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Cordero Bennett (185-1988) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Christian Alaekwe (193, college: St.Thomas, TX) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sao Paulo maintains eleventh position with 7-9 record, which they share with Pinheiros. Brasilia lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth place with 13 games lost. Sao Paulo will meet at home bottom-ranked Mogi (#19) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brasilia will play against Cearense in Fortaleza and hope to secure a win.
