The game had a very big importance for third-rankedAguada as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aguada edged 8th ranked Cordon in Montevideo 78-75 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cordon. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 24 points for the winners. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Aguada's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Panamanian power forward Eric Romero (210-1999, agency: Pro Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Chaz Crawford (208-1984, college: Drexel) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aguada (11-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Cordon at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Trouville and Goes.
