Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo:Penarol (#2) and Bigua (#6). Bigua was defeated at home 81-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bigua. Penarol made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) who added 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Josh Cunningham (203-1996, college: Dayton) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bigua players scored in double figures. Penarol (10-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position behind leader Aguada, which they share with Nacional. Loser Bigua keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Malvin.
