Regular Season Round 17: Comunicaciones - Zarate 75-70

We should mention about the upset which took place in Mercedes, where higher rankedZarate (8-7) lost to seventeenth ranked Comunicaciones (5-12) in a road game 70-75 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zarate. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Comunicaciones' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Agustin Brocal (191-1997) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Damian Pineda (194-1988) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Comunicaciones moved-up to sixteenth place. Newly promoted Zarate dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Regatas and San Martin. Comunicaciones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zarate will play at home against Penarol (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
