There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 13th rankedLa Union (6-8) was defeated by third ranked Boca Jrs (13-5) 100-88 on Sunday. Boca Jrs. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to La Union 's 32. They outrebounded La Union 50-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Boca Jrs. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Federico Contrera (-2006) stepped up and scored 25 points, 7 assists and 7 steals for the winners and forward Tiziano Prome (201-2005) chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds. Five Boca Jrs players scored in double figures. Boca Jrs' coach Gonzalo Perez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Franco Gimenez responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Franco Chir (190-2002) scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. Boca Jrs. moved-up to second place, which they share with Independ.O. Loser La Union dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost.
