Regular Season Round 4: Ancud - Las Animas 88-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofLas Animas (3-1) on the court of top-ranked Ancud on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Ancud 88-76 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Las Animas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Argentinian Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Ancud's coach Jose Luis Pisani used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. Ancud have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Las Animas at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Valdivia and Espanol.
