The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedPenarol (16-3) in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Cordon (8-11) 75-65 . It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Penarol. They outrebounded Penarol 47-32 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American power forward Chaz Crawford (208-1984, college: Drexel) who led his team to a victory with 8 points and 22 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Dennis McKinney (194-1998, college: Mt.Mercy) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward JyLan Washington (206-1997, college: Tennessee St.) added 17 points in the effort for Penarol. Cordon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Malvin. Penarol at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost.
