Top ranked ArgentinianQuimsa (3-2) recorded its second loss in Montevideo on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Uruguayan Nacional (3-3) 78-72 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimsa. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Nacional made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Alejandro Acosta (189-1989) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Claudio Ramirez (200-1990) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Fortunato Rolfi (186-2001) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nacional moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Esteli. Defending Argentinian champion Quimsa still keeps top position with two games lost.
