There was a minor upset when 7th rankedLa Union (12-12) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Pilar (13-13) 81-67 on Sunday. Pilar made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Pilar outrebounded La Union 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. Eduardo Gamboa (189-1984) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Guido Cabrera (188-2000) responded with 11 points and 5 assists and forward Aquiles Montani (190-1994) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pilar moved-up to seventh place. Loser La Union dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with H.Americano.
