Bottom-rankedCarona (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-49 loss to sixth ranked Shockwaves (3-2) in on Thursday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Carona 's 32. Shockwaves forced 20 Carona turnovers and outrebounded them 54-27 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward David Swan (175) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Josh Barrett (193, college: Toccoa Falls) helped adding 23 points. Five Shockwaves players scored in double figures. At the losing side Melland Nepomuceno responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Rv Dancel scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Shockwaves have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lions. Newly promoted Carona still closes the standings with four games lost.
