There was a minor upset when their close opponentFortaleza (15-14) was smashed by tenth ranked Corinthians (15-13) in Sao Paulo 102-82 on Thursday. Corinthians shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American guard Elyjah Clark (190-1998, college: MSSU) notched 27 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) supported him with 13 points and 14 assists. Corinthians' coach Silvio Santander used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Douglas Nunes (210-1987) did not help to save the game for Cearense . American swingman Dexter McClanahan (193-1997, college: Nicholls St.) added 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Corinthians have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sao Jose. Loser Fortaleza keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost.
