We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Villa Maria where 10th rankedPilar (13-16) was crushed by eleventh ranked Ameghino (13-14) 99-73 on Tuesday. It was a great shooting night for Ameghino especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-2000) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Fermin Thygesen (186-1998) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Ameghino players scored in double figures. American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Santiago Ibarra (198-1998) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ameghino moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Quilmes MP and La Union. Pilar lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost.
