Regular Season Round 3: Santo Andre - Ponta Grossa 63-53

Not a big story in a game when Ponta Grossa (0-5) was defeated on the road by Santo Andre (3-1) 63-53 on Friday. Santo Andre looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Tassia Carcavalli (176-1992) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Evelyn Mariano (180-1997) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Colombian guard Manuela Rios (165-1997) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Karina Jacob (187-1985) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Santo Andre will meet Mesquita (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ponta Grossa will play against Campinas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
