The game in Mazatlan was also quite interesting. Second rankedTijuana Zonkeys (8-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Venados (4-4). Tijuana Zonkeys did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 87-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Venados. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tijuana made 7 blocks. American forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Brazilian center Joao Franca (215-1998) supported him with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Enrique Zuniga used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Decensae White (198-1988, college: SF State) did not help to save the game for Mazatlan . His fellow American import swingman Wayne Runnels (198-1989, college: Creighton) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tijuana keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Astros. Loser Venados keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Angeles.
