Everything went according to plan in Cordoba where second rankedInstituto (20-4) beat 15th ranked La Union (8-15) 88-71 on Saturday. Instituto made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Instituto outrebounded La Union 58-33 including a 23-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kadir Pomare fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Fausto Moussa (198-2004) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lisandro Bernabei (-2005) produced 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Franco Chir (190-2002) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Instituto have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-4 record having just one point less than leader Gimnasia. La Union lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth place with 15 games lost. Instituto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. La Union will play against Boca Jrs. (#3) and hope to secure a win.
