Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo:Nacional (#3) and Cordon (#8). Nacional (18-8) won against visiting Cordon (12-15) 69-61 . Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nacional made 7 blocks. American Jordan Mathews (191-1994, college: Gonzaga) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American swingman Dennis McKinney (194-1998, college: Mt.Mercy) with 21 points and Panamanian power forward Eric Romero (210-1999, agency: Pro Sports) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Nacional maintains third place with 18-8 record having six points less than leader Malvin. Cordon at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost.
