Very expected game in La Rioja where 16th ranked Penarol (9-16) was rolled over by sixth ranked Riachuelo (19-10) 96-69 on Thursday. Riachuelo outrebounded Penarol 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jeremias Barco (-2005) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and center Fabricio Diaz (205-2006) who added 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Agustin Samara scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Riachuelo maintains sixth position with 19-10 record. Loser Penarol dropped to the seventeenth place with 16 games lost. Riachuelo will meet at home higher ranked Boca Jrs. (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Penarol will play against Quimsa (#11) in Santiago del Estero and hope to secure a win.
