Rather expected game in Montevideo where 3rd placedNacional (19-9) was defeated by first ranked Aguada (23-7) 87-83 on Monday. Aguada made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Nacional only scored seven points from the stripe. Strangely Nacional outrebounded Aguada 42-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Juan Santiso (185-1994) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aguada maintains first place with 23-7 record, which they share with Penarol. Nacional at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost.
