No shocking result in a game when third rankedAngeles (14-6) crushed 6th ranked Venados (9-11) in Ciudad de Mexico 87-68 on Tuesday. Angeles made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Angeles especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for Vander Blue (196-1992, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 26 points. Point guard DaQuan Bracey (180-1997, college: La Tech) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Swingman Wayne Runnels (198-1989, college: Creighton) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jeff Ledbetter (191-1988, college: Idaho, agency: Slash Sports) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Mazatlan in the defeat. Four Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Angeles have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Angeles maintains third place with 14-6 record behind leader Astros. Loser Venados keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Guaymas.
