There was no surprise in Mercedes where 17th rankedComunicaciones (9-21) was defeated by fifth ranked Platense (19-10) 67-63 on Thursday. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Pedro Ianguas (210-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Sebastian Morales (202-1988) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Platense players scored in double figures. American center Ricardo Glenn (203-1990, college: USC Upstate) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Felipe Pais (183-1990) scored 20 points. Comunicaciones' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Platense moved-up to fourth place. Comunicaciones lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. They share it with La Union.
