Very predictable result in Mercedes where third rankedOlimpico (23-11) smashed 18th ranked Comunicaciones (9-22) 110-74 on Sunday. Olimpico shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. American center Michael Hughes (203-1998, college: Duquesne) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Forward Alex Negrete (192-2001) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: Diamond Sports) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Olimpico and four Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpico maintains third position with 23-11 record having four points less than leader Quimsa. Comunicaciones lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth place with 22 games lost.
