Eighth-rankedCAN Oruro (2-5) was very close to win a game against third ranked Tarija Basquet (6-2) on Wednesday. Tarija Basquet managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86 . However their fans expected much easier game. Tarija Basquet outrebounded CAN Oruro 69-47 including a 49-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jamar Sandifer (193-1997, college: SWOSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Mateo Ortiz (199-2000) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian forward Gonzalo Romero (196-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American swingman Deondre Wade (194, college: Seminole St.) added 20 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for CAN Oruro. Four CAN Oruro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tarija Basquet have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-2 record behind leader CAN Potosi. CAN Oruro lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Kinwa and Saracho.
