The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-rankedCriollos (9-3) in Manati on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Osos (6-7) 115-94 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Criollos. Manati made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Chris Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. International guard Ethan Thompson (196-1999, college: Oregon St.) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Osos players scored in double figures. Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Travis Trice II (183-1993, college: Michigan St.) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Caguas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Manati maintains third place with 6-7 record having two points less than leader Caguas. Caguas at the other side still keep top position with three games lost.
