Very important is a road loss of third rankedMetapan (12-4) against fourth ranked Cojute (10-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Metapan was defeated by Cojute in Cojutepeque 80-68 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Metapan. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 21 rebounds for the winners and American center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds. Batista is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and American JD Weatherspoon (198-1992, college: Toledo) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Five Cojute and four Metapan players scored in double figures. Cojute have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-6 record. Metapan at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost.
