Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Asuncion:Olimpia K. (#2) and Colonias (#3). Colonias were defeated at home 58-66 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Colonias. The winners were led by the former international Rodney Mercado (191-1999) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and international point guard Jorge Martinez (178-1998) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Venezuelan point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) did not help to save the game for Colonias . Argentinian Nelson Peralta (195-1992) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olimpia K. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record behind leader San Jose. Loser Colonias keep the third place with three games lost.
