Regular Season Round 42: Penarol - Ferro 81-65

There was an upset when higher ranked Ferro (21-14) lost to thirteenth ranked Penarol (15-20) in Mar del Plata 65-81 on Saturday. Penarol forced 21 Ferro turnovers. Forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) notched 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Penarol's coach Tomas Sirochinsky allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by center Augusto Roveres (207-2003) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Power forward Alejandro Piccart (198-2002) added 18 points. Penarol moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Ferro keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Penarol will meet at home higher ranked Independ.O. (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ferro will play against Independ.O. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
